Lavender- Lavandula angustifolia

This essential oil is steamed distilled from the plant's fresh flowering tops. There are many varieties of lavender but the most important medicinally is "True Lavender" (Lavandula angustifolia). This evergreen woody shrub grows up to three feet in height, has pale green, narrow, linear shape leaves and beautiful, fragrant, violet-blue flowers that grow on spikes. The major producers of this essential oil are Bulgaria, France, Croatia and Russia.

Lavender has been used for thousands of years either in the form of an essential oil or from the fresh or dried flowers. It is probably one of the most versatile essential oils with its properties ranging from analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, bactericide, sedative, anti-rheumatic and more. I recommend having lavender around for when you desire a feeling of calmness and ease in your life.

You can purchase this essential oil through Frogworks. ( essential oils are not on our web site - call or email)
