Geranium - Pelargonium graveolens

Geranium is a perennial shrub with small pink flowers and hairy pointed leaves and stems. The entire plant is aromatic. This plant is native to South Africa and is widely cultivated in Russia, Egypt, Japan, Central America and Europe. There are over 700 species of the cultivated geranium and pelargonium; many are just for ornamental purposes. There are several oil-producing species but the main one is Pelargonium graveolens. The essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves, stalks and flowers.

Geranium essential oil balances the nervous system. It relieves anxiety and depression and lifts the spirits. Its affect on the adrenal cortex helps to reduce stress and balances the hormones. It is considered ideal for maintaining homeostasis in the body, and it has a tonic action on the kidneys and liver. Geranium stimulates the lymphatic system, which keeps infection at bay. It is also said to be a tonic to the circulation system, making it more fluid. The pain-relieving qualities of geranium help to ease neuralgia. So enjoy this uplifting and balancing essential oil for the winter months.

This is general information regarding Geranium - (Pelargonium graveolens). We encourage you to learn more about this plant through research and see how it can benefit your life. You can purchase essential oils through FrogWorks.

(Essential oils are not on our website - they will be soon - please call or email to place an order or to receive our essential oil retail list.)

This synergistic blend of Ravensara, Niaoulli and Bay Laurel is designed to help with colds, viruses, flu, chest colds and those times when you are just not feeling 100 percent well. Ravensara’s anti-infectious, anti-viral, anti-bacterial and expectorant properties help with acute cases of flu. It also raises overall energy and helps with insomnia. Niaoulli is considered tissue-stimulating oil that promotes local circulation, increases white blood cells and anti-body activity, and helps fight infections. This oil is also noted to help boost the immune system, and to help with sinusitis, chest infections, bronchitis, influenza, pneumonia, whooping cough, asthma, catarrh and laryngitis. And the final ingredient in Immune Boost, Bay Laurel, is regarded as an anti-septic oil that helps with viral infections, colds, flu and bronchitis. This oil is also said to have a warming effect on the emotions.

This topical product is great to have on hand when you are around other people who may be ailing. And it is a great item to take with you while traveling.
