Working With Plants and Animals (October 10)
We will study the art and science of plants and how to integrate them into your animal’s lives. I am always amazed at how animals respond to plant therapy.
I have been working with plants and animals for 23 years. Animals consistently teach me, in the most subtle ways, that they know what they need.
Natural therapies are on the rise, and the new trend is pet remedies. There are some fantastic things on the market, and there are some scary things on the market. This class will help educate you on working with plants, equip you with the knowledge to purchase safe products, learn how to make remedies and be an advocate for your animal's wellbeing.
I invite you to come and study the art and science of the plants and learn how to integrate them into your animal’s lives. (please note when I say plants I am speaking of working with herbs)
During this hands-on class you will learn:
Go on a brief herb walk
Study 12 of the most common and safest plants to use and discover their medicinal and therapeutic qualities
Herbal Safety
Methods of application and use of plants
Zoopharmacognosy: the process by which animals self-medicate
How to work with animals using plants
Using herbal teas (tisanes) versus herbal tinctures
Understand when to decoct or infuse a tisane
Make infused oil with plants
Make salves and creams
How to use, create, and apply poultices
