Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) essential oil results from the steam distillation of the dried herb. Some call it their "rescue remedy". For me, its aroma helps with hypertension, insomnia and stress-related conditions. According to Susanne Fischer-Rizzi, "The oil is helpful during major life changes (such as mid-life crisis, menopause, or other times of transition.)" It helps to release deeply repressed emotions such as anger and embitterment. It is suggested that this oil is most appropriate for those whose feelings of anger and rage are linked subconsciously with emotional wounding or vulnerability. Yarrow is noted to tone the skin and helps with acne, burns, cuts, inflammations, rashes, wounds and scars. 

Other comments about Yarrow are that it balances digestion's nervous component, improves absorption and digestive secretions, and helps with colic and flatulence. Stimulates bile, aids in the digestion of fats, and encourages appetite. I have read it is a helpful oil or herb for the female reproductive system, dealing with irregular periods, menopausal problems, inflammation of the ovaries, prolapsed uterus, and fibroids. It is an excellent analgesic and anti-inflammatory. I have found many abused animals are very attracted to this oil. Yarrow is a beautiful oil that heals physical and emotional wounds. 

This essential oil is diluted in a vegetable-based oil of Safflower, creating an affordable 10% dilution of the essential oil.
